A Fabulous Girls Getaway in Union Square SF

** Guest Post by Jasmine Risso, winner of our Girls Getaway contest and co-founder of, an online magazine dedicated to providing simple tips and expert advice from real moms. She is also a wife and mother to two boys ages two and six.

A couple of months ago I entered Union Square’s Girls Getaway contest on Facebook. Out of luck, or really, due to great friends who were determined to have me win (and voted for my entry), I won! I couldn’t believe I won an ultimate girl’s weekend in my favorite city! This was not just your average night out with the girls, this was a full weekend filled with activities most girls only dream about.

The weekend started with our check-in at Hotel Diva in San Francisco’s Union Square. I am actually quite familiar with this hotel and the other Personality Hotels as it is the only hotel chain I will stay at when visiting San Francisco. The Hotel Diva is one of my favorite boutique hotels and couldn’t be more perfect for a girl’s weekend away. It screams sexy and really puts so much personality into every detail. From the luxurious beds to the Philosophy bath products, all the way to the condom in the safe that says “Safe Sex”. Yes, you read that right!

After checking in we found a lot of goodies and a delicious bottle of champagne waiting for us inside our room. We squealed with excitement as we went through it all: gift cards to Kurt Geiger and Macy’s for each of us, a $400 lunch at E&O Asian Kitchen, a Union Square cocktail tour with Avital Tours, and facials from BellaPelle Skin Studio. I felt like I was dreaming.

Being that all three of us are busy moms, we hadn’t seen each other in months, so we took Friday as an opportunity to catch up, relax and get ready for a day of being spoiled and pampered. On Saturday our excitement hit a whole new level as we headed out to “shop ‘til we dropped” starting at Macy’s. On top of our gift cards, we each received 10% off our purchases! The Union Square location is impressive to say the least. Not only are there over six floors but they also have a whole floor dedicated to just shoes… my dream come true! We each found the perfect outfit to wear that evening and headed on to Kurt Geiger.

The sales associates at Kurt Geiger really made the experience. We had the best time at their store and tried on every shoe imaginable. I fell in love with the most amazing pumps I have ever tried on and fortunately for me, they were a perfect match with the dress I bought from Macy’s.

Unfortunately we lost track of time as we chatted with the associates at Kurt Geiger and couldn’t make it to our facials. We are planning a trip back this month to get the facials from BellaPelle and can’t wait to get pampered.

After shopping we headed to do our cocktail tour with Avital Tours. Let me just tell you, whether you live in San Francisco or are visiting, this is a must-do! Words cannot describe how much fun this tour was. We had the best cocktails the city has to offer, the best tour guide (Miss Avital herself), and found some amazing new places to grab a drink.

Drinking cocktails worked up our appetites, so we headed to E&O Asian Kitchen. which happened to be a block away from where our cocktail tour ended. The whole menu was available to us (literally) with our $400 budget! Our waiter was so helpful in choosing which foods to order. The options are family style so we shared everything. Dinner was delicious and it was fun exploring their unique dishes. Dinner was definitely a highlight of the trip as we got to enjoy each other’s company over a bottle of champagne and good food.

I can’t thank Union Square and all their sponsors enough for putting this weekend contest together. We had such an incredible time and this will be a memory that will last us a lifetime.
