Go Green and Have a Cold One in Union Square for St. Patty's Day!

Go Green for St. Patty’s Day!

Want to go where ‘everybody knows your name’? Union Square is filled with some of the hottest pubs and grubs in San Francisco! Enjoy a crisp pint with your friends this St. Patrick’s Day. You will have lots to choose from in Union Square so pace yourself. If you need help with mapping out your day (and night) drinking adventure, here is a list of locations.

1.    There’s always time for a pint at Johnny Foley’s! With plenty of Irish draughts to choose from and authentic décor, you’ll feel like you took a trip to Ireland to enjoy a beer. The lively pub features a full line of draft and bottled beer, including popular Irish selections like Smithwick’s Ale, Harp Lager, Murphy’s Irish Stout and of course, Guinness Stout.  Johnny Foley’s is well-known for its dueling pianos. Head down to the cellar for A Few Gas Men from 3:00 - 6:00 pm.

2.     The Irish Bank is the place to go to for a St. Patrick’s Day party! They have a great outdoor patio, a fun atmosphere and lively entertainment. Doors open for their 14th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party at 9 am with all the festivities starting at noon. Traditional Irish music and Celtic dance performed by The Watch, The Shams, The Quiet Men, and DJ Marc Vanbrabant. Only $10 at the door will get you a celebration you will never forget (well, depending on the amount of beers you have).

3.    The 167th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in San Francisco is a well-established event with historic ties to the city. The parade begins on the corner of Market and 2nd Street and runs to Civic Center Plaza (a few blocks away from the Union Square District). The parade beings at 11:30 am and will showcase Irish culture through live performances, entertainment, arts and crafts exhibitors, food and beverage concessions, non-profit booths representing the Irish community and activities for kids.

4. Take your friends to the King George Hotel's completely renovated and updated lounge and bar area, Winston's Lounge, this Saturday, 3/17, starting at 2pm! We will be hosting a tap takeover right after the conclusion of the San Francisco St. Patrick's Day Parade (which happens to end at 2pm).

They will be featuring a selection of Lagunitas Brewing Co beers and will have food as well.

Enjoy pub games like darts, pool and billiards and live music!
