As General Manager of the neighborhood’s two newest additions, 398 Restaurant and Bar and sister café Klyde, Alex is often the first and last face guests see when they visit either eatery. With experience at restaurants all over the world from Bangkok to France, Alex believes Union Square is the perfect destination for this pair of exciting restaurants whether it’s for a pre-theater dinner, a nightcap or a lunch with friends.
398 Restaurant & Bar is a chic yet approachable modern dining destination, serving Euro-American dishes with fresh ingredients. Open daily from 5:00 pm until 12:00 am, the menu includes a large selection of patés and terrines, cheese and charcuterie boards, salads, pasta, fish, meat dishes and specials like beef cheeks with mushrooms, pearl onions and red wine sauce. The restaurant also offers a large variety of local and international wines by the bottle and by the glass as well as handcrafted cocktails. 398 Restaurant is led by Executive Chef Sam Fechheimer. Klyde Café & Wine Bar is a traditional American bistro, serving traditional food with European influences and fresh ingredients. Open daily from 6:30 am until midnight, the menu includes a selection of small plates, salads, burgers, pasta and American classic mains like a grilled pork chop with kale and creamy polenta or Rigatoni with lamb ragu, as well as a large variety of local and international wines by the bottle and by the glass.
