Parking Tips

If you are planning to visit San Francisco and are staying in a hotel in the Union Square Area, we recommend you don’t rent a car. The hotels charge quite a hefty fee for parking your car at their hotel (around $10/night in many cases) and while you can choose one of the garages to park for less, you will not have in and out access and will be charged each time you bring your car in and then leave. In other words the 24 hour fee is only if you were to keep your car there and not move it.

Walking to Union Square

Union Square is a short walk from Yerba Buena Gardens, San Francisco Centre, Chinatown, the Theater District, Nob Hill, Lombard Street and more. You can walk a little further to North Beach, the Ferry Building, the Embarcadero and Fisherman's Wharf or they are easily accessible by Street Car or Cable Car.

Driving From the Bay Bridge

1. Take the Fremont Street exit to Mission Street.
2. Turn left onto Mission Street.
3. Turn right at Third Street.
4. As you cross Market Street make a left onto Geary Street.
5. Stay on Geary Street and as you cross Stockton Street, Union Square Park will be on your right.
