Cleaning & Maintenance - Everyone benefits from the Clean and Green program. It increases Union Square property values and enhances visitor experiences.
- All properties receive a sidewalk steam cleaning every two weeks. View the May and June Steam Cleaning Schedules to find your property's sidewalk cleaning date.
- The BID performs litter removal and sidewalk sweeping 7 days a week from 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
- Properties get grafitti removal up to 8 feet, with property owners authorization.
Community Service Ambassadors (CSA’s) - A safe and secure environment brings new businesses to the area and keeps visitors coming back for more. Union Square’s red-jacketed Community Service Ambassadors are a welcoming presence in the district and interact with thousands of visitors every week, giving directions, referrals and distributing the BID’s Map & Guide. Ambassadors are available 7 days a week, 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Additional Police Patrol – The BID’s 10B police officer patrols the district 7 days a week, 10 hours a day, providing assistance to tourists and locals alike, when needed.
Marketing – The Union Square BID creates and implements imaginative PR, marketing and social media projects and programs in order to maintain Union Square as a top visitor and local destination.
Public Affairs and Advocacy – The Union Square BID works with the city to advocate and represent members’ interests and ensure the economic vitality of the district.
Streetscape Improvements – The Union Square BID develops landscaping and streetscaping ideas and programs to distinguish the district and enhance the pedestrian experience in the area.
Capital Improvements – The Union Square BID sponsors architectural and restorative programs to improve and enrich the district.
