Long Live Cloth: Fiber & Textile Care
In this follow-up workshop to the Britex favorite Warp X Weft: Textile 101, the instructor Geana will her experience with fibers and garment care to extend the life of your wardrobe whether it's made up of precious vintage finds, pieces you’ve sewn using favorite indie patterns, locally-made artisan garments or just pieces you've grown to love. Long Live Cloth is about connecting the gap between what our grandmothers knew about garment care and the lack of information now available. She’ll show you how and why different fibers should be washed using slightly different methods and will offer foolproof tips for home sewers. Participants are invited to bring a garment of their own with questions to share with the group. A small zine designed by Geana will accompany this workshop giving participants the most important tool for garment care–knowledge!
