The World Affairs Council of Northern California believes that informed citizens can make a difference in the world. Founded in 1947 following the San Francisco conference that established the United Nations, we are a non-partisan, membership organization with local roots and global reach. Our mission is to explore issues and opportunities that transcend borders. Through our speaker events, education program, annual conference and extensive online resources, we engage the globally minded with ideas that stimulate, issues that matter and leaders who inspire. We are all about making connections—to others who share our hopes for a better world and to solutions that can help get us there.
